Airness joins forces with Repower Sanga Milano
We are proud to partner with Repower Sanga Milano to promote the important role of sports as an engine of inclusion, equality and respect.
"To be a model of organization, an expression of sports culture and values through excellence in behavior, actions, and results. Inside and outside the gym, within the community and schools, with the energy, passion, and competence that have always set us apart."
This is the mission of Repower Sanga Milano, perfectly intertwined with the values of Airness, which has led us to work together in recent years on initiatives like the One Day Clinic and Fairness Games.
THE STORY OF REPOWER SANGA MILAN
The club was founded with a youth basketball section in 1997, and since 1999, it has embraced both youth sectors (male and female). Today, with its 1200 members, it's the only women's team in Milan competing in the top league, representing the basketball excellence of the Lombard capital. Repower Sanga Milano is also involved in inclusive basketball and is the driving force behind numerous social and educational events.
As a basketball school and a point of reference for young people and families in the neighborhood, Repower Sanga Milano has pursued two parallel goals since its inception:
Introducing and developing basketball in schools by offering physical education that serves as the foundation for a technical and personal training program.
Sharing a social and inclusive project in schools and the neighborhood, making basketball a vehicle for cultural change, with the development of young people at the core of the project.
With a focus on women's basketball in Milan, an area challenged by low numbers of female players, Repower Sanga Milano aims to give all girls and young women the opportunity to play at a high level after receiving theoretical and practical training.
Their goals lead to tangible actions, including the Fairness Games event we organized together with Repower Sanga Milan and Laureus Foundation. This showcases equity and inclusion but also significant national achievements. In the 2022/23 season, Sanga, led by Coach Pinotti, named the best coach of the year in the women's Serie A2, won the championship and secured promotion to Serie A. They played their first final in the stunning setting of the Allianz Cloud, with a live audience of 2800 people and over 5000 fans streaming online.
Historic athletes and new arrivals from around the world make up a super team ready to take on the challenges of the new season.
Best of luck!
