Blue Day Event
An important event organized by Airness in collaboration with Olimpia Milano and Fabula ONLUS on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day.
April 20th is the date of the Blue Day, established by the United Nations in 2007 to draw attention to the rights of autistic people.
According to data from the National Observatory, in Italy, 1 child out of 77 between the ages of 7 and 9 has an autism spectrum disorder. It is a disability that finds in sports an undeniable and recognized source of psycho-physical balance.
The evening, hosted at our Store in Piazzale Loreto Milan, was an emotional demonstration of how basketball can both promote the well-being of individuals with autism and be a beautiful vehicle for inclusion.
During the event, presented by Mauro dell'Olio, the official announcer of Olimpia Milano, there were moments of reflection with talks by representatives of associations active in the field, as well as fun challenges involving basketball shooting contests among all the children present. The day concluded with a raffle of 36 autographed Blue jerseys worn by the Olimpia Team during two recent matches, to raise awareness for World Autism Awareness Day and related themes.
We would like to thank the Vice President of Fabula ONLUS, the President of Fracta ONLU, the responsible person from Autism project for schools, as well as Pippo Ricci, a player from Olimpia, and the ever-present Fiero Il Guerriero, the Mascot of Olimpia Milano, loved by young and old alike.
